Punta Leona Puntarenas

Punta Leona, Puntarenas

Punta Leona is not well known as a tourist point, but there is where its magic resides. It is a special place for those who are looking for peace, the beach is very quiet with almost no waves at all. Since most of the Punta Leona area is a National Wildlife Refuge, you’ll see just a few buildings and they are away from the beach. The rest of the zone is a jungle with huge importance for animal investigation, mostly birds and animals that can be spotted by lucky visitors if they are quiet enough.
The forest is one of the few protected zones between the “transition area” a special area that is used to divide the dry tropical forest, typical from the northwest of the country, and the rain tropical forest that is common on the country’s south.
