Privacy policy
What happens to the information you give us through the website's forms, and how to exercise your rights. The website sets no cookies and does not track its audience.
Who is responsible for your data
- Data controller
- Pura Vida Motorbike
- Address
- Finca Los Sombrillas, Ciudad Colón, San José 10701, Costa Rica
- Contact
- [email protected]
What we receive
Only what you write in one of our forms (tour, rental or contact request, or your email address on the home page):
- your name and email address;
- depending on the form, your phone number, your dates, the number of riders and passengers, the bike you want and your riding level;
- your message, if you write one.
Fields marked “optional” can be left empty; the others are needed for us to reply.
Why
To answer your request and, if you wish, prepare your booking. No mailing list, no advertising, and your details are never sold or passed on.
On what basis
Your consent, which you give by ticking the box under each form (Costa Rican Law No. 8968, article 5). For visitors from the European Union, the GDPR also applies: processing is based on the pre-contractual steps taken at your request (article 6(1)(b)) and on that consent.
Who sees them
The Pura Vida Motorbike team, and no one else. Two technical providers are involved:
- Cloudflare, which hosts the website and forwards your request without keeping it (its technical logs keep the time and outcome of the sending, not its content);
- Google, which provides the mailbox (Gmail) where your request arrives.
Both are based in the United States and cover these transfers with the safeguards provided for by the GDPR.
The website's maps load their satellite images from Esri: as with any online image, your browser sends it your IP address. And if you write to us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp's privacy policy applies to that conversation.
For how long
- Retention period
- As long as needed to answer your request and follow up on your booking, then no more than three years after our last exchange.
Your rights
At any time you can ask to see your data, correct it or delete it, or withdraw your consent (with no effect on what was done before). Visitors from the European Union can also object to processing, restrict it, and receive their data in a common format.
Just write to us: [email protected]
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the data protection authority: in Costa Rica, the Agencia de Protección de Datos de los Habitantes (Prodhab); in the European Union, the authority of your country.
Cookies
The website sets no cookies and uses no audience-measurement or advertising tools: there is nothing to accept or refuse.
