Offroad Tour 7 days
Seven days of dirt from one end of the country to the other: the wild south and the Osa peninsula, then the Gulf of Nicoya ferry, Montezuma and the cloud forest of Monteverde. 1,142 km.
From the southern Pacific to the cloud forest, on dirt tracks
The long version of the Offroad: after the Cerro de la Muerte, San Vito, the Osa peninsula and Ojochal, we load the bikes onto the barge across the río Sierpe, ride back up the coast, cross the Gulf of Nicoya by ferry to Paquera, stop at Montezuma at the tip of the peninsula, then climb to Monteverde and its cloud forest before dropping back down to San José. 1,142 km, a large part of it off asphalt.

Real route: 1,142 km and about 24 h of riding spread over 7 days. The detailed roadbook (viewpoints, stops and good addresses) is handed to you at the start.
Day-by-day itinerary
Indicative route, adaptable to the weather, your level and what you feel like (private tours). Some days are deliberately short: Rincón de Osa (80 km) and Ojochal (85 km). You arrive early because there is something to see there.
The southern tracks, 163 km
We leave San José on the southern tracks and the tone is set straight away: dirt from the first kilometres, then the big climb of the Cerro de la Muerte at 3 335 m and the cloud forest, before dropping down into the Valle del General.
Towards the border, 173 km
Down the Valle del General then up again to San Vito and the coffee farms of Coto Brus, a few kilometres from Panama. Mid-altitude mountains, vegetation everywhere, river crossings depending on the season.
The Golfo Dulce, 80 km
Short leg, long day: down to the southern plain and along the Golfo Dulce to Rincón, at the gateway to the Osa peninsula, on the doorstep of Corcovado national park.
The río Sierpe barge, 85 km
The wildest leg: we cut across the Osa peninsula through its interior, then load the bikes onto a barge to cross the río Sierpe and reach the southern Pacific coast, on the edge of the largest mangrove in the country.
The coast and the ferry, 290 km
The longest leg: up the Costanera along the Pacific, huge ocean views and beach stops, then across the Gulf of Nicoya by ferry (about 1 h 30, bikes on deck) to reach the southern tip of the peninsula and Montezuma.
The Amistad bridge, 182 km
Morning off-road along the coast, then up the peninsula and over the río Tempisque on the legendary Amistad bridge, along the edge of the Palo Verde wetlands. The day ends with the climb to the highland village of Monteverde and its cloud forest.
One last trail, 169 km
Down the Tilarán cordillera on dirt, one last trail along the canyon rim, and back to the shop. Head full of memories and dirt up to your ears.
