The bike

Twenty-four litres, and the desert at the end

The DS 800 X Rally, its factory name at Voge, is the fleet's range champion: a 24-litre tank, close to 500 km between fill-ups, a 21-inch front wheel, 200 mm of travel and a 798 cc parallel twin making 94 horsepower at 9,000 rpm. This is the bike for the long Nicaragua and Panamá days, the one that never asks where the next pump is. In exchange it is tall and heavy: keep it for riders who know how to place it.
